JAMMU: In a shocking incident, three foetuses were found inside Kishtwar district hospital in Jammu and Kashmir , triggering panic and widespread resentment among people, who demanded stern action against those involved in this heinous crime. A case has been registered in this regard.According to sources, while one foetus was found inside a toilet, another was spotted in a dustbin. The third one was found buried under a huge boulder. All the three were found within the hospital complex.Residents of the area assembled at the hospital and demanded action against the guilty. Sensing the gravity of the matter, police rushed to the spot and took custody of the foetuses. Police also registered a case at Kishtwar police station, reports said.After initial investigation, police detained two persons. One of them has confessed to his crime and stated that his wife had prematurely given birth to a dead baby and, instead of performing last rites, he had hurriedly buried it on the hospital premises. Police are yet to find out about the other two foetuses.When contacted, Kishtwar deputy commissioner Angrez Singh Rana said some vested interests had blown the issue out of proportion. “I have been told that some expecting mothers had problems during delivery. While one delivered a foetus without a head, another had a premature dead baby and the third too had similar problem… The dead foetuses were handed over to the family members for last rites.”
