Day temperatures are higher in Srinagar than in Jammu, heavy rain expected from 9 to 12 August

According to the meteorological center Srinagar, heavy rains are expected in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir from August 9 to 12. On Saturday also, light rain may occur in some parts.

Jammu and adjoining areas received rain on Friday morning. The weather cleared as the day progressed. However, it remained mildly cloudy throughout the day. This brought relief from the heat, but the humidity did not stop. Humidity in Jammu reached 86 per cent and everyone was feeling the heat. The day`s maximum temperature was 32.2 and the minimum was 28.7 degrees Celsius. Several parts of Udhampur also received rain.

Similarly, in many other districts, Indradev was kind to me. Katra recorded a daytime temperature of 28.0 and a minimum temperature of 26.6 degrees Celsius with 21.4 mm of rain. Banihal recorded 30.2, Batot 24.8 and Bhaderwah 31.2 degrees Celsius.

More mercury in Srinagar than Jammu
so far during this monsoon season, Indradev has not been kind to Kashmir. The condition is that Srinagar has higher daytime temperatures than Jammu. Not only this, day temperatures in many districts have reached 37 degrees, due to which the monsoons are also getting sweaty.

Temperatures in Srinagar, Kupwara and Gulmarg touched record levels for the season. On Friday, the day temperature in Srinagar was 6.2 degrees above the normal at 35.4 degrees Celsius. Qazigund recorded 32.3, Kokernag 31.6 degrees Celsius. Even in cold areas like Kupwara, the daytime temperature has risen to 6.3 degree Celsius from normal to 36.3 degree Celsius.
