Katra-Delhi Expressway: The journey from Jammu to Delhi will be completed in just six hours

The work of Delhi-Katra Expressway will be completed by the year 2023. After its completion, the journey from Jammu to Delhi will be completed in just six hours, which is half of the time it currently takes. This information was given by Union Minister of State, Dr. Jitendra Singh.

According to Dr. Singh, after the expressway is built, people will prefer to travel by road rather than by train or air journey. Apart from Katra, the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, the Express Corridor will also link the holy city of Amritsar. 

Dr. Jitendra Singh said that after completion of the survey by Feedback Consultants Limited the process of land acquisition is also almost complete. The estimated cost of this project is more than 35 thousand crores. This expressway includes Kathua, Jammu besides Jalandhar, Amritsar, Kapurthala and 
Will pass through Ludhiana.

Industrial investment will increase in Kathua-Jammu
According to Dr. Singh, this corridor, which will be completed in three years, will bring a new ray to promote the industry and invest in the entire region. He said that this will also pave the way for the development of economic hubs in cities like Kathua and Jammu.

Dr. Jitendra Singh started efforts for this important project of his parliamentary constituency from the year 2015 itself. He had proposed about this express way three years ago during a function held in Katra which was accepted by Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. After this it took time due to procedural issues. 

4 to 6 lanes will be Jammu Pathankot National Highway Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway will also be 4 to 6 lanes, which will prove to be a great boon for traffic between Jammu, Kathua and Pathankot.
