3 soldiers martyr, 5 injured in Pakistani firing on LoC

Three soldiers were killed in Pakistani shelling in Kupwara and Poonch districts on the LoC. Five others are injured. The army has also given a befitting reply to the shelling.

Three soldiers were killed in Pakistani shelling in Kupwara and Poonch districts on the LoC. Five others are injured. The army has also given a befitting reply to the shelling.

It is being told that the Pakistani army has suffered heavy losses in retaliation by the Indian Army. The army has destroyed the terrorists` launch pad and several posts of the Pak Army in the Lipa Valley. 

There are also reports of many Pakistani soldiers injured and many terrorists killed in this army action. However, it has not been officially confirmed yet.  

Earlier, Pakistan opened fire on the forward posts of the Indian Army in the Naugam sector of the border district of Kupwara in North Kashmir. The Pakistani army fired mortars and fired from small arms. The fire continued till about one o`clock in the afternoon.

An army official said that two army personnel were killed in the shelling, while 4 others were injured. The injured were admitted to the 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for treatment. The martyred soldiers include Havildar Kuldeep Singh of 15 Sikh Lai and Shubham Sharma, Rifle Man of 8 Jack Rifles. However, the army has not officially confirmed the names of the martyred soldiers. While the injured have been identified as Naib Subedar Isher Das of eight Jack Rifles, Rifle Man Gauri Singh, Havildar Dinesh and 15 Sikh Lai soldier Sandeep Singh.

At the same time, Lance Naik Karnail Singh was martyred in Pakistan`s shelling in Mankot and Krishna Valley sectors of Poonch district on Wednesday night. He was a resident of Loha Kheda village in Punjab. Another injured soldier Varinder Singh has been admitted to the hospital. His mortal body was sent to the ancestral village in the afternoon on Thursday after the army paid tribute to Karnail Singh. According to the army, all three were brave. His sacrifice will always be remembered.
