He had gone to his native Kulgam district on leave to attend a wedding ceremony in his family where he was attacked. Ishfaq was killed in an encounter that started between the security forces and terrorists in Kulgam’s Tantrypora Saturday morning. The official added, “we are committed to bring the perpetrators of this heinous act of terror to justice.”23-year-old Fayaz hailed from Kulgam district.

Ishfaq was killed in an encounter that started between the security forces and terrorists in Kulgam’s Tantrypora Saturday morning. He was reportedly involved in the killing of Lieutenant Ummer Fayaz who was abducted and shot dead by militants in Kashmir’s Shopian district in May this year.

As per the latest report by ANI, the encounter was still going on and the mobile internet services were temporarily suspended in Shopian and Kulgam districts after the killing of Ishfaq Padder. In May it was reported that Umar Fayaz was abducted by five to six terrorists from his relative’s house. Fayaz”s bullet riddled body was found in Harmain area in the district. “In a dastardly act, some unidentified terrorists yesterday abducted and then killed a young Army officer, Lt Ummer Fayaz,” an army official had said.

“The Army salutes the braveheart and stands by the bereaved family in this hour of tragedy,” the official was quoted as saying by PTI. The official added, “we are committed to bring the perpetrators of this heinous act of terror to justice.” 23-year-old Fayaz hailed from Kulgam district. He had gone to his native Kulgam district on leave to attend a wedding ceremony in his family where he was attacked. Fayaz, had passed out of the National Defence Academy (NDA) and was scheduled to go for a ‘Young Officers Course’ in September.

Yesterday, at least five police personnel got injured after a bus was attacked by the terrorists at Pantha Chowk area on the outskirts of Srinagar. Out of these, one terrorist succumbed to his injuries on Friday evening. The incident took place on the outskirts of Srinagar. An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Border Security Force (BSF) also lost his life in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
