Swachhta team evaluates Steel City cleanliness

"Our focus is not merely taking multiple steps to keep the city clean but to encourage people to take part in keeping the city clean. Enrolling people's participation has been a huge achievement for us," JNAC special officer Sanjay Kumar said. "Every aspect of cleanliness in accordance with the survey guidelines was assessed by the team members," an official said.Detailed evaluation of mechanized garbage lifting system, digital application in segregation of dry and wet waste, GPS-enabled monitoring of garbage dumping vehicles, technical knowledge upgrade of health workers in efficiently running the system and practice of sanitation by health workers while executing the job are some of the activities evaluated by the team. JAMSHEDPUR:As the three-member team from Hyderabad started physical inspection and evaluation of cleanliness in the Steel City as part of Swachhta Survekshan 2018, agencies of the district administration and Jusco stayed on alert.The inspection team has spent the first 24 hours in examining papers and digital documentaries related to the initiatives Jusco has taken in making the Steel City an organized urban habitat.Besides, the programmes run by Jusco to keep the city clean with support and involvement of the denizens was also assessed by the team before sending the day's report online on Thursday.In addition, the team also took note of the work accomplished by the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee JNAC ), which is an urban municipal body, in effectively implementing cleanliness measures.
