Cops seize 130 bottles of cough syrup

JHARSUGUDA: Jharsuguda town police seized 130 bottles of illegally-procured codeine-laced cough syrup from Bengalipara in Mangalbazaar. Jharsuguda SDPO Kailash Acharya said they used to sell the cough syrup to drug peddlers of Jharsuguda town. Two persons were arrested and forwarded to court on Wednesday.Mukesh Sindhi of Bengalipada and Sheikh Amjad of Babuapada Milat Colony were involved in the procurement and sale of cough syrup illegally from Ranchi without any purchase bill or other supportive documents.
