Steel City on dengue alert after woman tests positive

JAMSHEDPUR: The East Singhbhum district health department swung into action after the season's first case of dengue was detected earlier this week. Last year, nearly 450 cases of dengue were reported in the district.A 45-year-old woman from Cable Town in Golmuri was tested positive of dengue recently. ""All hospitals and clinics , private and public, have been told to prepare the isolation wards in their respective healthcare centres. "She was discharged from Tata Main Hospital on Tuesday and is recovering well," Pal said. He added: "Fogging and sprinkling of bleaching power has been done at Cable Town to kill the possibility of the revival of the disease in that area.
