Man survives scare at Tatanagar station

There were few passengers on platform 3 of Tatanagar station but Kumar was alert. “Had it not been for Railway Protection Force constable Rahul Kumar, the passenger may not have been alive. The train was stopped and Kishore given first-aid,” a South Eastern Railway official said. He ran after Kishore and managed to get him to safety near the end of the platform. Kishore later thanked the constable.

KOLKATA: A passenger in an AC-II tier coach of Howrah-Mumbai Mail (via Nagpur) to Chakradhapur had a narrow escape while trying to get off at Tatanagar shortly after midnight on Thursday.The train started from the station as Kaushal Kishore was trying to get off. He clung to a co-passenger’s arm. “Had it not been for Railway Protection Force constable Rahul Kumar, the passenger may not have been alive. Kishore is from Yuvraj Apartment, Birsa Nagar, Telco, Jamshedpur and was on berth 32. There were few passengers on platform 3 of Tatanagar station but Kumar was alert. He ran after Kishore and managed to get him to safety near the end of the platform. The train was stopped and Kishore given first-aid,” a South Eastern Railway official said. Kishore later thanked the constable.
