Woman alleges rape on moving train

The Chakradharpur police who are investigating the matter jointly with the government railway police (GRP) and RPF said no FIR hs been lodged yet far in connection with the rape allegations. "We have handed over the matter to the state police and the are presently investigating it," said R A Ansari, RPF commandant of Chakradharpur division. However, she managed to scribble on a sheet of paper and inform the authorities as to what happened. "The complainant's father (who is an RPF staff and is deputed in Tatanagar) has contradicted the rape claim of his daughter," said officer in-charge of Chakradharpur police station S N Jha.RPF officials said the victim couldn't speak up after she regained her consciousness due to the poor health condition. JAMSHEDPUR: A woman passenger on Wednesday complained of rape onboard a moving train at the Chakradharpur railway division limits after she was found in unconscious state from Sini railway station on Tuesday.The woman told the Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials that she was travelling to Chakradharpur town to visit her relative from Tatanagar on the passenger train when one unidentified person allegedly raped her by taking advantage of the vacant coach.However, RPF officials said the victim's father, who arrived at the hospital claimed that the girl has made such allegations in the past too.

"The train left from Tatanagar at 3.30PM and was scheduled to reach Chakradharpur station at 5.30PM and the 'mishap' happened in between the journey," she wrote.Presently, the victim is undergoing treatment at Chakradharpur railway hospital and officials are waiting for the medical report to arrive before taking any action.Earlier, the RPF rescued the victim from Sini to Chakradharpur and got her admitted to the rail hospital and informed her parents over the phone."We have handed over the matter to the state police and the are presently investigating it," said R A Ansari, RPF commandant of Chakradharpur division.
