Ready to extend help to police in student death case: XLRI

JAMSHEDPUR: Officials at the XLRI-Xavier School of Management on Monday said they are waiting for a call from the police team in Kolkata investigating the mysterious death of their student, Harsh Bhalani, whose body was found in a Kolkata hotel on Friday.Bhalani seemed to have died soon after checking into the hotel on Thursday but his body, with injuries which looked out self inflicted, was found from the bathroom, which was locked from inside, the following day when he failed to check out. Two classmates of the deceased student and one faculty member were in the team and they have returned to the college.Stating that the death of Bhalani was perplexing, the official said the deceased was a bright student performed exceptionally well in all modules of the course and equally good in football.He said though a pall of gloom descended in the college atmosphere, the management has not deferred the college events, including its annual homecoming scheduled for December 1 and 2.One of Bhalani's colleague said subtle signs of loneliness was apparent on when he came for Diwali celebrations, a day before he left for Kolkata on Thursday.
