ACS takes lead, forms 1st students' union at DSPMU

These candidates form the first students' union body of the university after its formation in 2017. Now that we are part of the students union, we will once again raise this demand on a bigger platform and try to be heard not just in the university but also in the assembly. We will also be working towards providing better infrastructural facilities like cleaner toilets, common room for students and other such necessities now. Amandeep Munda, who has been selected as the president said, "Regular classes and timely session is our priority.

RANCHI: Candidates of Adiwasi Chhatra Sangh (ACS) dominated the students' union election at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University by bagging three of the five posts of the union on Wednesday.The counting of votes at DSPMU was conducted on Wednesday in which three seats, including those of president, vice president and joint secretary, were won by ACS. The winning candidates include Amandeep Munda as president, Sujata Bakhla as vice president, Bhagwat Kumar ( Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad ) as secretary, Ritesh Oraon as joint secretary and Sujit Kumar Munda (Jharkhand Chhatra Morcha) as deputy secretary. These candidates form the first students' union body of the university after its formation in 2017. President of ACS, Sushil Oraon said, "Since its up-gradation to deemed university in 2017, we have been demanding to change Ranchi College to one of the martyrs of Jharkhand but no one stood by us and the name was changed to DSPMU. Now that we are part of the students union, we will once again raise this demand on a bigger platform and try to be heard not just in the university but also in the assembly."The winning candidates said their focus will be to provide better infrastructural and academic facilities in the university. Amandeep Munda, who has been selected as the president said, "Regular classes and timely session is our priority.
