JAMSHEDPUR: The Jamshedpur Carnival, the city's signature winter festival, will be held from December 15-18, an organiser said on Wednesday.A new attraction has been added to this year's carnival. This year, popular film stars Jimmy Sheirgill and Yuvika Chaudhary will arrive for the promotion of their upcoming film 'S P Chauhan' during the carnival. The two film-stars will perform with noted playback singer Jubin Nautiyal and his band.But, the highlight of the extravaganza will be the carnival parade that will be taken out from Jubilee Park to the venue ground, Gopal Maidan, on the inaugural day. During the parade, a Latin Band will be performing live, there will be contingents depicting various states and their culture, vintage cars, horses, armoured vehicles, dancers and many more special attractions.Chanakya Chaudhary, vice-president (corporate services) Tata Steel, the principal stakeholder of the festival, said, "All the initiatives of Tata Steel are aimed at benefiting the community. The winter festival is once such idea to provide space and platform to the community wherein the talents make good use of the opportunity."The Jamshedpur Winterfest 2018 website - www.jamshedpurwinterfestival.in - has been revamped recently to give it a new look, an organiser said."It is this time of the year when the citizens keenly look forward to the carnival celebration. I invite everyone to come with family and friends to enjoy the carnival ," said Tarun Daga, MD, Jusco, which is also one of the leading stake-holders of the winter festival.
