XLRI student dies after fall on campus

JAMSHEDPUR: A second year of Human Resource Management student at the premier XLRI - Xavier School of Management died on the college campus in mysterious circumstances on Friday.Shashwat Dixit, 26, who stayed at St Thomas hostel was walking to the adjoining Mother Teresa girls' hostel when he fell on his face and lost consciousness. SSP Anup Birthare said a police team has questioned fellow students who were with Shashwat on Thursday night and have also examined CCTV footage from the vicinity of the site.Birthare said: "Nothing suspicious has come to light, but a formal opinion can be framed only after the post-mortem is done."The police have enquired with the college authorities about physical condition and medical history of the deceased student.In a statement, XLRI said that Shashwat had an accidental fall while walking towards another hostel in the early hours on Friday.
