Railways rolls out measures to tackle festive rush

JAMSHEDPUR: The SER on Monday rolled out a slew of measures to accommodate the extra rush in long distance trains to tackle the Holi rush scheduled on March 21. The railway has attached one AC 3 coach and one sleeper coach each to the Howrah-Ahmedabad super-fast express and Howrah-CSTM express trains. A railway official said, "An unreserved coach train between Tatanagar and Chapra will run on the day before Holi. Also, it has been decided that sleeper coaches will be to few Bihar bound trains from here." The train will reach Mumbai at 3.35PM on Tuesday.

While it has introduced a special train between Shalimar and Mumbai on March 16, another train between Tatanagar and Chapra will be run on the festival eve.The Holi special train from Mumbai made its maiden journey on March 16 while the train from Shalimar chugged off at 6:10AM on Monday. The train will reach Mumbai at 3.35PM on Tuesday. The railway has attached one AC 3 coach and one sleeper coach each to the Howrah-Ahmedabad super-fast express and Howrah-CSTM express trains. A railway official said, "An unreserved coach train between Tatanagar and Chapra will run on the day before Holi. Also, it has been decided that sleeper coaches will be to few Bihar bound trains from here."
