Is it possible to test someone`s corona without taking a swab sample? But in Chakulia of East Singhbhum district, the Health Department has done this feat. The names of more than half a dozen such people have come to the fore in Sardiha Panchayat of the block, whose sample was not taken but their RT-PCR report has come positive.

Pregnant women and Anganwadi workers are also included among those declared positive. This has created a stir in the entire panchayat. After the matter came to light, the health workers involved in the survey testing team have also dried up. This has raised question marks on the entire system of survey, investigation, and reporting.

For this two types of teams were formed. The task of the first team was to identify people with suspicious symptoms. The second team, which included ANM and Sahiya of the Health Department, was responsible for examining the samples of suspected patients. Two methods were adopted for the investigation. First with Rapid Engine Test Kit and second RT-PCR test. The rapid kit gives instant test results, Whereas samples for RT-PCR would have been sent to the lab in Jamshedpur.
