Jharkhand Cyber Crime: Cheated 1 lakh on KYC Update

Man in Jamshedpur became a victim of Cyber Crime with the fraud of 1 lakh. 

Sharmila Chakravati, a resident of Bhalubasa has filed a police complaint as a victim of cybercrime. On the SMS of getting KYC done, she was fraudly cheated One Lakh Two Thousand Four Hundred and Eighty (1,02480). 

on June 26, a message was received on her mobile number, in which information was given that the number was closed within 24 hours due to non-KYC of BSNL mobile SIM. Call the customer care number to keep the number running. On the same day, when a phone call was made on the mobile number 6295518332 and 6202253785 from the given mobile number, the recipient of the phone called himself an officer of BSNL. 

Informed about the mobile shutdown in 24 hours. Asked to do e-KYC. For that, asked to download the TeamViewer Quick Sport app from Google Play Store. After this, the payment of Rs 10 was asked to be paid by debit card. He did so as said. During this, some processing was done by placing it on the phone call. After that got logged on to mobile net banking on a phone call. After that, the amount started getting deducted from the account. A total of Rs 1 lakh 2480 was withdrawn from the account.
