Jharkhand: Man Duped With 2.69 Lakh Over KYC Update

Cybercrime duped man of 2.69 lakh over KYC update.  

Cybercrime seems to pick in Jharkhand`s Jamshedpur. Cyber thugs duped a Sonari resident, Kalyan Rai of Rs 2.69 lakh, by claiming to update his KYC. 

A case has been registered at Bistupur cyber thana against mobile subscribers 8537977985 and 9334396131 by Kalyan Rai stating that the callers from these two numbers asked for updating his KYC in the bank and sought bank account details and ATM card details which he did and soon after he received a message on mobile about withdrawal of Rs 2. 69 lakh

In another case of cyber fraud, Sunita Suchari wife of a UCIL employee in Jadugora was duped of Rs 3.57 lakh by fraudsters who asked her to download anydesk and withdrew the amount from her bank account.

She was asked to update KYC of her mobile SIM and said that if KYC is not done then the mobile will stop functioning.
