JAMSHEDPUR: A team of Delhi Police and Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) personnel searched the house of Al-Qaeda suspect Sayed Mohamed Zeeshan Ali at Azadnagar in Mango on Thursday. Ali's father Sayed Hyder Ali claimed his son is innocent.Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Anoop T Mathew said, "Ali was deported from Saudi Arabia. His name popped up when three Al Qaeda suspects were arrested from the city in 2016. He is currently being interrogated by the Intelligence Bureau, ATS and a Special Cell in Delhi." The SSP, however, refused to confirm the arrival of the Delhi Police in the city.While police have refused to divulge any further information on the terror suspect, sources in the police department told TOI that Ali was actively involved with the terror network for the last three years.Another suspect, Abdul Sami, a resident of Dhatkidih under Bistupur police station area, was arrested by the Delhi Police on January 16 last year. Sami was arrested on charges of sharing close links with Abul Rahman Cuttacki, who was the Al Qaeda Indian sub-continent operative and was arrested in 2015.
