Third ground-breaking event in November to bring IT companies on board

JAMSHEDPUR: Chief secretary Rajbala Verma on Saturday announced the state government will host the third ground-breaking ceremony of Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors' Summit in November to lay the foundations of as many as 50 projects.The focus of the third ground-breaking ceremony will be on Information Technology companies . Industries secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal said that the government has set aside 68,000 sq feet space for the IT companies to begin their operations in the state. "Our aim is to get 25,000 youth employed by January 12 next year when the country celebrates National Youth Day," she said. "We understand the difficulties that investors may face if the time and cost of their projects escalates due to bottlenecks. She added the government has set up as many as 36 training centres across the state to develop the skills of the youths in sewing, embroidery, hospitality among others.

"We have offers from 18 IT-related companies in the field of software development, chip manufacturing, business process outsourcing (BPO) and virtual reality," Barnwal said.Talking to media persons on the sidelines of second ground-breaking ceremony at the Regal Ground here, Verma said that the government has not only simplified process for companies to obtain necessary clearances but is also working to create a pool of skilled manpower for the companies which are eyeing an early start."We understand the difficulties that investors may face if the time and cost of their projects escalates due to bottlenecks. Therefore, we have introduced a system for the companies to file online application for six major requirements, including drug licence, excise licence and no-objection certificates for fire and safety," she said.Verma said the focus of the government is to ensure employment of local youths in the projects that took off in the region. She added the government has set up as many as 36 training centres across the state to develop the skills of the youths in sewing, embroidery, hospitality among others. "Our aim is to get 25,000 youth employed by January 12 next year when the country celebrates National Youth Day," she said.
