JODHPUR: In a major but rare development, the Rajasthan high court here on Wednesday granted permission to the police to take the voice sample of a person accused of firing for extortion and killing an electronics businessman of the city.While granting permission, justice Vijay Bishnoi said that though there was no clear provisions pertaining to permission for drawing the voice samples in the law, the court was the only medium to provide solution to the legal bottlenecks.“If the courts would not understand the difficulties of the police, the hands of the law would be tied,” said the court.It is a huge victory for the police, who had presented its side in the court praying for the permission for taking the voice sample of Vikramjeet Singh alias Vikka, who is the active member of the gang of the Lawrence Bishnoi and is currently under the judicial custody as an accused of incidents of firing in Jodhpur city.
