A resounding evening for Army at TOI’s 10th anniversary celebrations

JODHPUR: The atmosphere was filled with patriotic fervour at an event organised to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the TOI at the Konark auditorium in the army cantonment area of Jodhpur.
Rafi, Mukesh and Kishore Kumar which compelled the audience to match its voice with those of singers.After the musical performances, the stage was taken over by standup comedian Akesh Parth, who burst the laughter bubble through his comical satires involving politics and some contemporary issues.
In the event “A Tribute to Indian Army: Salute to Soldiers”, the TOI stepped in to celebrate the courage and resolution of the invincible Indian Army on Saturday evening.Anchored by Major Trapti Arya and Sumit Goyal, the event applauded bravery of the daredevils of the Indian army and filled the atmosphere with a sense of pride for the nation.Began with the felicitation of the chief guest Lt Gen,R K Jagga (AVSM,VSM) and his wife Reema Jagga, the programme gradually set the mood and excitement.Patriotic chart-busters from bollywood like “Har Karam Apana Karenge, Ae Watan Tere Liye” from “Karma” and “Sandese Aate Hain, Hamen Tarpate Hain” from “Border” by singers from Gajendra Band provided a memorable entertainment to over 900 jawans and their families as well as the officers.The musical numbers also included some popular songs from ace singers of yesteryears Mohd.
