35 POCSO courts to come up in Rajasthan

But it could not satisfy the court. It said the court is burdened with cases and the poor is denied justice as prosecutors are not prompt and swift in taking care of the cases.The said the amount to be deposited in the account of the Rajasthan Legal Services Authority after being record from the erring officials. The court issued the order for the failure on the part of the CBI to record the statements of the witnesses earlier which resulted in delay in the litigation by over five years in a case.The court said there was an inordinate delay in the case due to the dereliction on the part of the CBI. JAIPUR: The state government has in principle agreed for setting up of 35 POCSO courts in the state.According to the understanding reached at a meeting held with the judges of the high court and state government officials under the chief secretary, it was decided that one POCSO court will be set up at each of the 33 district headquarters and two in the bigger districts of Jaipur and Jodhpur.The meeting of the judges and higher officials of the government took place after the Rajasthan state Legal Services Authority filed a PIL in the court alleging that the state government had not yet complied with the POCSO Act.

JAIPUR: The state government has in principle agreed for setting up of 35 POCSO courts in the state.According to the understanding reached at a meeting held with the judges of the high court and state government officials under the chief secretary, it was decided that one POCSO court will be set up at each of the 33 district headquarters and two in the bigger districts of Jaipur and Jodhpur.The meeting of the judges and higher officials of the government took place after the Rajasthan state Legal Services Authority filed a PIL in the court alleging that the state government had not yet complied with the POCSO Act. The court said as per the Supreme court guideline the number of courts to be set up is 152 in the state and asked the government to come out with action plan within two weeks.However, Justice M N Bhandari said a meeting of the senior most judge KS Jhaveri and himself and the concerned department officials and the chief secretary would be convened at the high court to thrash out the issues involved in setting up such courts.Rs 50K fine imposed on CBIRajasthan High Court has imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the CBI.
