JODHPUR: Alleging partiality in a kabaddi match, some persons attacked a physical training instructor ( PTI ) late on Sunday night during the match in village Dhoru in Bhopalgarh subdivision of Jodhpur. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to injuries by morning. Police have arrested one person in relation to this attack.The victim has been identified as Shyam Sunder Saran (48) from village Kuri. A complaint has been given to the police against five persons by his brother.SP (rural) Rajan Dushyant said that Saran was a referee in a kabaddi match under 63rd State Level Kabaddi Tournament at Shaheed Babulal Bishnoi Government Secondary School in village Dhoru on Sunday night.“During the match, some persons had a verbal spate with him alleging an impartial decision,” said Dushyant.Later in the night after the match, Saran was attacked by some persons near the gate of the government school and injured him badly. He sustained fatal head injuries and fell unconscious due to attack.After the intervention of the villagers, the attackers fled from the spot. Saran was first taken to the local hospital but was referred to the hospital in Jodhpur where he succumbed to his injures.SHO (Bhopalgarh) Rajeev Bhadu said that one person Ashok has been arrested so far and search for the rest four is on. He also belonged to same village the victim belonged to.The incident triggered tension in the victim’s village and people assembled in large numbers. Considering the sensitivity of the matter, a large contingent of policemen has been deployed in the village.Bhadu said situation in the village was tense but under control. He said that the remaining accused will also be caught soon.
