He hardly attended assembly during his entire tenure as MLA of Sardarpura and held the chief minister responsible for neglecting Sardarpura and Jodhpur. JODHPUR: Launching an attack on former chief minister Ashok Gehlot , his opponent from Sardarpura constituency BJP’s Shambhu Singh Khetasar said that Gehlot never exhibited concern for his voters and the issues of his constituency and remained busy in Center’s politics.Referring to the apology by Gehlot from the voters of Sardarpura and entire Jodhpur for subjecting them to neglect by Raje government, Khetasar told mediapersons that why Gehlot gave the desired representation to his constituency by raising the issues in assembly. It may be recalled that Gehlot had apologised to the people of Jodhpur stating that it was he because of whom, the chief minister Vasundhara Raje neglected Jodhpur and they stood deprived of developmental works. If he felt that Sardarpura and Jodhpur people were neglected because of his being the citizen of Jodhpur, why didn’t he fight for his people in assembly,” said Khetasar. He claimed that it was BJP which carried out unprecedented developmental and beautification works in Sardarpura which was left to fend for itself by its own MLA Gehlot. He said that Gehlot remained active in Delhi as AICC office-bearer and kept travelling entire country leaving his own people to his so called representatives. “If he is of the view that Jodhpur was subjected to a step-motherly treatment because of himself, why did he remain silent for five years and exert pressure on the government for works in his constituency,” said Khetasar adding that even an independent legislator care and fight for his constituency, what restrained Gehlot from doing so, despite being a two-time chief minister.Citing Gehlot’s own line “Me thansu door nahi” (I am not far from you), Khetasar said that he was not just far but too for the people of Jodhpur and appealed to the people to vote him out this time for his negligent attitude and disrespect of his voters.
