Rajasthan assembly elections 2018: Ashok Gehlot campaigns aggressively in Jodhpur

Gehlot said, if Raje had worked for the state for five years, she would not have needed to bow before Shah in these polls. He is taking on BJP’s Shambhu Singh Khetasar from Sardarpura for second time in a row.

JODHPUR: Two days before the polling, AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot reached Jodhpur on Wednesday and undertook aggressive campaigning in support of the Congress candidates.Gehlot appealed to uproot the Vasundhara Raje government for her alleged negligence of Jodhpur. In his public address at the historic Ghantaghar, Gehlot said, “Jodhpur has been subjected to a step-motherly treatment all these five years. It is now time reply by bringing Congress to power.” His campaign spree included public addresses and meetings at various spots across his constituency, Sardarpura.He also halted at the houses of some party loyalists and struck a dialogue with the people assembled there. Beginning his public address from Chokha, a Mali stronghold, Gehlot said that damage has already been done and even if PM Modi or BJP chief Amit Shah comes for damage control, people have decided for whom to vote. “Those in power have been misleading people in the name of religion. Aren’t we Hindu? People voting against Modi, aren’t they Hindu?” he questioned, appealing to people to vote for Congress. Gehlot said, if Raje had worked for the state for five years, she would not have needed to bow before Shah in these polls. “She is now bowing to save her chair,” he said. He is taking on BJP’s Shambhu Singh Khetasar from Sardarpura for second time in a row.
