IAF and Russian forces demonstrate operational prowess

The exercise is planned in two phases.

JAISALMER: India and Russia’s joint air exercise, Aviaindra 2018 is on at Jodhpur and the air force personnel of both countries demonstrated their operational activities by hitting target at Pokhran field firing range in Jaisalmer.South western command chief, Air Marshal H S Arora visited Jaisalmer and Jodhpur air base and inspected the joint exercise.The exercise that commenced from December 10, saw Russian and Indian pilots flying Indian planes and hitting the target at Pokhran field firing range, and in the coming days, the pilots of both countries will hit the target from Russian fighter planes.According to the information from sources, in this joint exercise, 30 fighter planes are being used by personnel of both the countries, apprising each other of their capabilities. Along with fighter planes, goods-carrying planes are also taking part in the exercise.Indian and Russian personnel took off from Jodhpur and Jaisalmer air bases in Sukhoi-30 fighter planes and under bombing mission, hit the targets at Chandan area in Pokhran range.Lt Gen Laury Suskov shared the experience of the war exercise held in Russia .
