Court summons collector over tampering of Kuldhara

Over three dozen houses have been demolished there.It is to be mentioned that after the issue was reported in the media, a PIL was filed in Rajasthan High Court. The high court, during its hearing of the PIL on November 27, had directed to maintain status quo till further orders and had banned all kind of commercial activities at Kuldhara. JAISALMER: While hearing a PIL by Manas Khatri on behalf of advocate Sunil Paliwal in the Rajasthan High Court , Jodhpur, the high court bench of justice Sangeet Lodha and justice Dinesh Mehta on Tuesday expressed their annoyance over tampering with the original form of the houses at the Kuldhara village, and asked Jaisalmer district collector to be personally present in the court.The bench also requested advocate general Mahendra Singh Singhvi to advocate the case on behalf of the government, and directed art and culture director, archaeology and museum, government of Rajasthan, Hardesh Kumar to be present during the next hearing on February 14.Kuldhara village, which was abandoned by Paliwal Brahmins, is a protected monument and in the last two years, has witnessed commercial activity being carried out on a large scale and its original form is being tampered with.
