JODHPUR: The city police have registered a case against cricketers Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul and film producer Karan Johar for their comments on women terming them to be vulgar and obscene in a TV show. Police have begun investigation into the matter.Both the cricketers had made comments pertaining to sexuality and women in Johar’s show Koffee with Karan.A resident of Luni had approached a local court seeking order for the police to register a case against the three terming their act as vulgar and indecent for women alleging that it was done purposefully to augment the popularity of the show.In his complaint, the complainant said that Johar deliberately presented content in his show, which was not only humiliating for women but was laced with corrupt, promiscuous and gender biased.Confirming the registration of the report on the direction of the court, SHO (Luni) Banshilal said that the case has been registered against Pandya, Rahul and Johar and investigation has begun in the matter.Earlier, in May 2018 also, the same complainant had field a case against Hardik Pandya complaining about his comments against B R Ambedkar on twitter. Pandya had, however, refuted the allegations stating that he never made the comments and that the twitter account was not his.
