JODHPUR: State’s first history-sheeter doctor, Imtiyaz Khan is out on bail for the fourth time, but state wants him to be behind bars again, to contain the heinous crime, he has been committing.Imtiyaz, a repeated offender for testing foetuses and female foeticide, was declared a history-sheeter last year and the State Human Rights Commission had also sought reply from the medical and health department, Rajasthan Medical Council (RMC) and Jodhpur police. With Imtiyaz being out on bail for the fourth time, the PCPNDT cell has moved a special leave petition in the Supreme Court for suspension of his bail granted in September 2018.In the petition, it has been stated that Imtiyaz is a habitual offender and begins committing the crime of foetus testing and elimination of female foetuses, immediately after coming out of jail. His being free is dangerous for the society. “The Supreme Court has admitted the petition and has issued notice to Imtiyaz. The matter has been listed for hearing on March 25,” said an official. The petition has also mentioned that the accused is responsible for eliminating female foetuses and the gender ratio in the state stands to be disturbed because of this malpractice. Imtiyaz had been first arrested for foetus testing and female foeticide in October 2016 and a case was registered against him. He, however, obtained a bail from the session court. But after being released from jail, he again resumed the crime and was again arrested in May 2017.
