LUCKNOW: The order of Baghpat’s chief judicial magistrate which asked Munna Bajrangi to appear in an extortion case on July 9, also advised the Jhansi jail authorities that he should be brought in ‘medically fit’ condition. Now, his family asks if he was medically fit, why was he carried in an ambulance from Jhansi to Baghpat jail where he was brutally murder just nine hours after landing?TOI has accessed the detailed Baghpat court order on July 7 following a month-long appeal by Bajrangi's wife and family members. In its twopage order, which is also a warrant, the court took cognisance of as many as eight illnesses including hypertension , cervical and lumbar spondilysis and coronary artery disease . However, the court said that any appeal from Bajrangi for a trial through video-conferencing could be entertained only after he appears in person during the first hearing, which was on July 9.The same order was used by Baghpat cops to shift him from Jhansi jail to Baghpat jail. Bajrangi’s family alleges that while cops implemented the court order by ensuring his appearance as per the warrant, they forgot about another part of the same order that ‘he should be medically fit’. In its plea, a copy of which is with TOI, Bajrangi and his family had earlier said that they “fear a fake medical fitness certificate shall be procured” and his encounter will be “staged".The warrant also makes a note of Bajrangi’s plea on a March 1 incident inside Jhansi jail in which he has levelled allegations against an STF official in Kanpur who sought help from an inmate to poison him.TOI has also accessed Bajrangi's medical record inside Jhansi jail which recorded high blood pressure, perspiration and breathlessness at least four times in last 30 days. The records inside jail have opinions by cardiologist, neurologist and general physician. While June 21 medical record by one Dr Arvind mentions chest pain, a recent one on July 5 by Dr Shrinivas advised a bed rest for Bajrangi. “Due diligence was followed everywhere. The last medical board also gave a clean chit and the jail officials and cops have told me that they ensured an ambulance with two doctors was provided to him," said home secretary Arvind Kumar.Talking to TOI, his family and lawyer however asked why an ambulance was used to shift him overnight if the UP Police thought he was fit. "All these developments raise many questions about UP Police’s intentions,” said Vikas Srivastava, the advocate for Bajrangi and his family.The court warrant has also mentioned that Bajrangi was appearing in Delhi and Varanasi court only through videoconferencing . A conversation has also surfaced in which a doctor is talking with Bajrangi's lawyer admitting to his illness.
