KANPUR: The police on Wednesday arrested two men for allegedly making an extortion call and threatening a relative of state cabinet minister Satish Mahana and recovered two country-made pistols and some live cartridges from them.One of the arrested man hails from Mainpuri district , while the other is a local resident.SP (East) Anurag Arya said that acting on a complaint by the minister's cousin Chetan Mahana, police traced the mobile phone number and arrested two persons. They had been making extortion calls and threatening the complainant, who is a jewellery businessman, and a resident of Chakeri area.Police said that the two used to first scan telephone numbers of businessmen, particularly of jewellers, from internet pages and then make phone calls or send SMS to extort money from them.Police sources said Chetan, who owns a jewellery shop in Chakeri area and is a relative of Satish Mahana, had been getting calls since July 18 from the mobile number, wherein a demand of Rs 1 lakh was made by the caller.
