Temple in Hamirpur ‘purified’ after BJP woman MLA’s visit

JHANSI/KANPUR: Residents of a village in Hamirpur took a brick of a temple to Allahabad for purification after the local BJP MLA visited the shrine. As per the details, during a visit, Rath MLA, Manisha Anuragi went to the temple site known to be the seat of Dhumr Rishi . While the incident happened on July 12, some locals shared it on Sunday.The incident took place in village Muskara Khurd. They said it would attract the wrath of the sage resulting in a drought.Some locals then took a brick from the temple to Allahabad for a holy dip. Later, some locals started objecting it saying women were banned from the site.

When contacted, village pradhan Omprakash Anuragi said, “this is an act of showdown by some villagers trying to target the MLA and me as we both are dalits. Ironically the day MLA madam visited it rained, so saying that her visit to the shrine will attract drought is meaningless”.When TOI contacted Anuragi, she said, “The matter has come to my knowledge too which if true is really sad”.
