ALLAHABAD: Seven inmates of a government juvenile home for boys escaped from the facility after breaking the iron grille of a window, under Khuldabad police station on Thursday morning.The juvenile home, Rajkiya Sampreshan Grah Kishore, is located near the local police station.Allahabad district magistrate Suhas LY ordered the suspension of two constables, two homeguards, caretaker of the juvenile home and two fourth-grade employees on charges of dereliction of duty. The DM said that an FIR under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code has also been lodged. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras wherein the juveniles can be seen breaking the iron grille in a planned manner to escape. SP (city) Brajesh Kumar Srivastav said, "The absconding juveniles are all below 15 years of age. Three of them are from Pratapgarh, two from Allahabad and one each from Amethi and Kanpur."Srivastava said after breaking the grille, the juveniles went towards the balcony and then escaped after climbing down a tree. "Police have already alerted local police in Kanpur, Pratapgarh and Amethi about the juveniles and have sought their cooperation. The seven juveniles had been sent to the shelter home after being arrested for petty offences. Besides, a special police team has also been constituted to arrest them," Srivastava added.The SP also said that a case had been lodged against errant staff of the juvenile home and they have also been placed under suspension.Preliminary investigation indicated that juveniles were able to break the iron grille as it was in a dilapidated condition.Police also found that some of the policemen on duty were also absent from their assigned posts.
