Shahi: Crunch of agri teachers will be dealt with soon

KANPUR: The crunch of teachers at four agriculture colleges of the state will be sorted out shortly, said agriculture minister Surya Pratap Shahi He was speaking at the Kisan Mela at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology on Saturday. "Proposal to create 246 posts of teachers at agriculture colleges has been accepted by the government to overcome the crunch," said Shahi.Shahi said that his government is working toward improving the income of farmers. "Our government is working to ensure that the income of our farmers improve. For that, we are in the process of distributing nearly eight quintals of seed to the farmers," he said.He said government will provide Rs 258 crore subsidy to farmers on purchase of agri machines. "State government has already waived loans of 86 lakh farmers and arrears of cane growers have been paid," the minister said.Over the rising incidents of loot on the premises of the university campus, Shahi said: "I have asked the varsity authorities to raise the boundary wall of the institute, besides I will also speak to senior police officials for initiating preventive measures to stop recurrence of such incidents."
