Actor Yashpal Sharma of Lagaan fame, shot for a scene from the film ' Family Of Thakurganj ' in Kanpur recently. The actor, who plays a police official in the film, shot an encounter scene at the Gola Ghat in the Cantonment area. "Kanpur mein iss sundar ghat par shoot kar ke bahut mazaa aa raha hai," said Yashpal, adding, "A huge crowd has gathered to watch the shooting but the best part is that they all are very supportive. What connects me to Kanpur is that in the TV show 'Neeli Chatri Wale', I played the role of Bhagwan Das Chaubey who was a Kanpurite. This visit to Kanpur was a quick one but in future I will definitely like to come to Kanpur to explore it well.""We have majorly shot this movie in Lucknow, Itaunja and Barabanki. The encounter scene was required to be shot on a river bank, so we chose Gola ghat of Kanpur for shooting the scene," added Sharma.Yashpal Sharma posing for a selfie with an actual police officer (BCCL/ IB Singh)'Family of Thakurganj' also features Jimmy Sheirgil Saurabh Shukla and Nandish Singh among others and is being shot in Lucknow also.
