On Tuesday morning, Virendra hacked her to death using a machete and then fled from the house.After finding Sharda lying in a pool of blood, the couple's son informed relatives, who in turn, alerted cops.

On Tuesday morning, Virendra hacked her to death using a machete and then fled from the house.After finding Sharda lying in a pool of blood, the couple's son informed relatives, who in turn, alerted cops. Sharda was rushed to a hospital where she later succumbed. Police have arrested Virendra and recovered the weapon used in the crime."Sharda's father Sukh Lal Singh, a retired SI, said Virendra's unemployment prompted Sharda to join UP Police in 1995-96 as a constable. Ever since her joining, Virendra suspected her of infidelity," said a cop. "Virendra had been behaving very oddly of late and was obsessed with watching violent clips on the internet. He would monitor his wife's movements and would often drop in at the police station where she was posted," he added."An FIR was registered based on a complaint by the couple's son. The body has been sent for an autopsy. Forensic experts have collected vital evidence from the spot of the crime," said SP (south) Raveena Tyagi.
