Two communities clash over taking out religious procession

KANPUR: A clash broke out between two communities allegedly after a religious procession was being taken out on the occasion of Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi. Members of the first group then retaliated, a senior police official said.Four people have been arrested, the SSP Anant Deo said and added that a heavy deployment of police and PAC personnel has been made and the situation is now under control. The clash took place in Sayed nagar Rawatpur area under the limits of Kalyanpur police station in the City on Wednesday morning.The situation was brought under control soon following intervention by the police, who arrested four persons for fomenting trouble in the area.The trouble began when one group, part of the procession, was attacked with bricks by members of another community.
