KANPUR: A 25-year-old youth had his genital cut off by father-in-law of a woman whom he was allegedly trying to rape in Kakwan police area of the district on Wednesday night.Arun Kumar, a resident of Nadiha Dhamu village in Kakwan police area, is now recovering in Lala Lajpat Rai hospital and his condition is stated to be stable after surgery.Police said Arun was seen pinning the woman in potato fields by her father-in-law who, with the help of his younger brother, bobbitised him with a razor and fled.According to SHO Kakwan, Daya Shankar Singh, Arun is a spoilt youth of the village. When Arun tried to force himself on her, she raised an alarm following which Ram Sanehi and latter’s younger brother Raghuveer, who were guarding the fields, rushed to the spot, pinned him to the ground, and cut his genital with a razor,” the SHO said and added that the woman’s husband works in Delhi.Police have registered a case under Section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of IPC against Ram Sanehi and his brother.
