BJP is the only party that has distributed benefits without any caste identification,” said Shah. We never asked the caste of people like they did during SP and BSP regimes. KANPUR: BJP national president Amit Shah on Wednesday heaped praises on UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath for weeding out criminals from the state.Shah made these remarks while addressing a booth-level workers’ convention in Kanpur and later attended a similar session in Lucknow.“Uttar Pradesh has seen alternative power centres and governments of SP, BSP, SP, BSP...criminals have had a free run in UP. Par ab main law and order ki tushti mein Yogi Adityanathji ko sadhuvad deta hoon ki unhone UP se gundo ka palayan karwa diya (I want to congratulate Yogiji for ensuring that UP is now free of criminals),” Shah told 20,000-odd presidents of booths in UP, invoking cries of ‘Jai Shri Ram’.“Criminals have become so fearful of the noose tightened by the government on them that they have started surrendering before it while courting arrest on their own. Now, children and women can attend weddings while wearing jewellery without any fear,” he said. His remarks assume significance as the UP government has been facing criticism from the Opposition over encounters of criminals by UP Police.Recently, the UP government, in its communique released to district magistrates for Republic Day function, had asked them to publicise the more than 3,000 encounters and 69 killings as a big “achievement” of the first 16 months of his governance.Shah also said that the improving law and order situation in UP was an indication of the end of caste-based crimes.“CM Yogi was telling all of us that several crore people in UP had now got toilets, LPG connections and even houses.
