KANPUR: A groom from Chitrakoot district on Thursday swept his newly wed wife off her feet on Valentine's Day by taking her to his home after the 'vidai' ceremony in a hired helicopter, as hundreds of curious villagers looked on.The groom, Prashant Kumar (26), is a native of Pahadi Buzurg village of Chitrakoot. He had landed in Attara town in Banda district for the wedding ceremony in a hired helicopter in the morning and flew back with the bride, Kiran (23), after ceremonies in the afternoon."As soon as the aircraft landed, hundreds of curious villagers gathered on the spot and jostled with each other to have a look, thinking that some politician had arrived," said a member of the 'baraat' (wedding procession).My bride's village was just on the border, and it took less than 20 minutes for us to make the journey by air, said Prashant, who works in a private firm in Jalandhar .
