Pulwama martyrs remembered at wedding in Farrukhabad

Kanpur: As the country salutes the supreme sacrifice of CRPF jawans in Pulwama on February 14, people at a wedding in UP’s Farrukhabad district remembered the martyrs by observing a two-minute silence before the celebrations began. Brijesh then requested the DJ to play “Aae mere watan ke logon.”“The patriotic gesture was decided by me in advance. The gathering than observed a two-minute silence as mark of tribute to the bravehearts. “This has made my wedding day a patriotic, historic and special occasion.” Youngsters in the ‘baraat’ said that the sacrifice of the bravehearts should not be forgotten. People present in the function raised anti-Pakistan slogans and demanded strict action against the perpetrators from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Not only this, the DJ at the wedding repeatedly played the patriotic song, “Aae mere watan ke logon, zara aankh me bhar lo paani, jo shaheed hue hai unki zara yaad karo qurbani,” on the request of the groom.Reports said before taking wedding vows, the couple dedicated the ceremony to the martyred soldiers and along with guests observed a two-minute silence. People present in the function raised anti-Pakistan slogans and demanded strict action against the perpetrators from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They demanded ‘5,000 heads in return of 42 lives lost’.As soon as the groom, Brijesh Kumar Chaurasiya (25), a resident of Saurikh in Kannauj, reached the guest house in Pratapnagar locality of Qamalganj in Farrukahabad, an elderly person handed a tricolour to him as well as Kamini (23), the bride-to-be.The ‘baratis’ were already carrying placards with slogans like “45 ke badle 5000 and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, “Bhartiya Sena Zindabad,” “Vande Matram” and “Pakistan Murdabad”. The gathering than observed a two-minute silence as mark of tribute to the bravehearts. Brijesh then requested the DJ to play “Aae mere watan ke logon.”“The patriotic gesture was decided by me in advance. The feeling come from within for our motherland and for its brave soldiers... Bharat mata ki Jai... Vande Mataram. It is the duty and responsibility for every Indian citizen to take out time and pay tribute to the departed bravehearts,” said Brijesh.He also shared with TOI that the martyred CRPF soldier Pradeep Singh Yadav’s family lives just few kilometres from his native place in Saurikh. Kamini echoed the sentiments. “This has made my wedding day a patriotic, historic and special occasion.” Youngsters in the ‘baraat’ said that the sacrifice of the bravehearts should not be forgotten. “We want 5,000 heads in return for their lives. We should retaliate to this inhuman act of terrorists supported by Pakistan,” said Manoj, a ‘baraati’.
