CM Yogi, Maurya visit Kanpur, review preparations for PM Narendra Modi's rally

They took stock of the arrangements made for the second mega ground-breaking ceremony in which the PM would lay foundation stones of projects worth over Rs 65,000 crore. KANPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath and deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday reviewed arrangements at Nirala Nagar railway ground where Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be addressing a public gathering here on March 8.The CM and deputy CM reached the city at 9.50 am and stayed at the venue for nearly an hour. The CM also held discussions with senior district and police officials regarding installation of stage, traffic management, drinking water, power supply, seating arrangements, medical facilities, sanitation, hi-end vehicles, traffic management, parking etc.“Besides directing the officials to make all necessary arrangements in time, the CM also told them to focus on traffic management, ensure proper route diversions and make parking lots close to the rally venue so that people do not face any incovenience in having access to the venue,” said a senior official.As the PM has to attend the second mega ground-breaking ceremony and lay foundation stones of several projects, the CM instructed the officials to make special arrangements for entrepreneurs who would be taking part in the ceremony.A large number of industrialists, investors and industry representatives are expected to take part in the groundbreaking ceremony, which aims to put Kanpur, once known as Manchester of East, back on the industrial map of the country.“The CM directed the officials to make a separate gallery and seating arrangements for entrepreneurs, and install models reflecting industrial development of the state at the rally site,” said minister for industrial development Satish Mahana.
