Nomination forms for Lok Sabha polls to be available from April 2

Kanpur: Candidates contesting for Kanpur Nagar and Akbarpur Lok Sabha seats will get nomination forms from the courts of district magistrate, Kanpur Nagar, and ADM (city) Akbarpur respectively from April 2.As per the nomination fees announced by the Election Commission for various categories, the candidates, belonging to general and OBC categories, have to submit a challan of Rs 25,000 alongwith the nomination form before the returning officer while candidates contestig on reserved seats will be required to submit a challan of Rs 12,500 along with the nomination form.Deputy election officer of Kanpur Nagar, Kehar Singh said the the date of scrutiny of nomination forms is April 10 and the dates of withdrawal are April 11 and April 12. Polling in Kanpur will be held on April 29 while counting of votes would take place on May 23. The contestants are required to submit their four passport size colour photographs, complete details of property, their criminal record, if any, no dues certificate from Kesco, telecom department, house and water tax, form A and B, if a contestant is a party candidate, complete detail of income, caste certificate and an affidavit verified by a gazetted officer along with teh forms.Meanwhile, on the directions of Election Commission, media certification and monitoring committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the district magistrate, who is also district election officer of Kanpur Nagar.
