Uttar Pradesh: Man threatens to kill BJP MP Sakshi Mahraj in bomb attack, held

Uttar Pradesh Police`s Anti-Terror Squad has nabbed a man from the Bijnor district for allegedly threatening Unnao Member of Parliament (MP) Sakshi Maharaj with killing him in a bomb attack. The man, identified as Gaffar, was held on Wednesday and is currently under police custody. During interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the crime while he was in Kuwait.

Unnao: Uttar Pradesh Police`s Anti-Terror Squad has nabbed a man from the Bijnor district for allegedly threatening Unnao Member of Parliament (MP) Sakshi Maharaj with killing him in a bomb attack. The man, identified as Gaffar, was held on Wednesday and is currently under police custody. During interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the crime while he was in Kuwait.

A case has been registered under Sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 507 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and section 66 (any electronic mail or electronic mail message for the purpose of causing annoyance or inconvenience) of the Information Technology Act. The accused will be produced before the designated magistrate court for a remand. One mobile phone, passport, Aadhar card, and a Civil ID Card has been recovered from the accused. Gaffar has been arrested from UP`s Bijnore by UP ATS for allegedly calling BJP MP from Unnao Sakshi Maharaj and threatening him to assassinate in a bomb blast.

The arrested accused Gaffar has confessed that he made a call to Sakshi Maharaj during his stay in Kuwait.
