A major accident took place on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday morning. A private bus collided with a board pole on the side of the divider. One person died, while more than 24 people were injured in the accident. It is being told that the accident happened after the bus driver dozed off the wheel and lost control of the vehicle.

At around 5.30 am, when the bus came in front of Nagla Dhara village of Karhal police station area of ​​Mainpuri, suddenly the bus collided with the pole of the signboard of the expressway. Due to the collision of the bus, there was a stampede among the passengers on the bus.

The bus was going from Hazipur, Bihar to Delhi. The bus operator died on the spot in the accident. The injured have been sent to Saifai Medical College for treatment.

The police reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations on receiving the information. The bus was removed from the road with the help of a crane. Police have sent the body for post-mortem.
