Kanpur: One of the two criminals, who had attacked a head constable with sticks and bricks and deprived him of his cash and a mobile phone, was arrested by the police following an early morning encounter on Wednesday.His accomplice Vishal Yadav was arrested earlier by the police late on Tuesday night, and on his tip off, the police on Wednesday arrested his aide Rahul Yadav after the encounter. Rahul got injured by a bullet in his leg during the encounter.Deputy commissioner of police (West) Vijay Dhull said the two miscreants, riding a bike, had fatally attacked head constable Mohammad Murtaza leaving him critically wounded in Bilhaur area of the district on Monday night.The crooks snatched a mobile phone and cash from him and fled away. The police had registered an FIR against the miscreants for robbery and attempt to murder and launched a search to make their arrest possible, the DCP further said.Besides a pistol, several cartridges, mobile phone and looted money have been recovered from Rahuls possession. The injured criminal has been admitted to the Lala Lajpat Rai hospital for treatment. Once he attains normalcy, he will be discharged from LLR hospital and sent to jail.
