Sikhs protest against corporator’s husband for thrashing bizman

Kanpur: Scores of people of Sikh community on Monday staged a protest at Gumti Gurdwara in connection with the road-rage case in which a businessman running a medical equipment shop near Lala Lajpat Rai hospital was seriously injured after being allegedly beaten up by a BJP corporators husband and his aides.The protest took place under the leadership of Yuva Sikh Morcha president Kawaljit Singh Manu.Kawaljit Singh Manu said that Ankit Shukla, husband of Saumya Shukla, BJP Corporator of ward number 95, and his aides, attacked Amol Deep Singh Bhatia fatally on Saturday night near city club in Raipurwa area. He has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi, where his condition is critical, but due to political pressure, the case has been registered under very mild IPC sections, Manu told TOI.
