KANPUR: To accommodate the excess water being released from Narora dam and Haridwar , over 1.07 lakh cusecs of water was released from the barrage into the downstream of Ganga on Wednesday. Till a few days back, the water level in Ganga downstream was around 110 metre mark. This increase in water was due to the continuous release of water from Haridwar and Narora dams. In the past few days, more water is being released into the Ganga downstream. However, there is no immediate threat of flood in the low-lying areas in the industrial city though water level has certainly increased at the city ghats.
