KANPUR: A major fire broke out at a multi-storey house in Tulsinagar area of the City in the early hours of Thursday, killing two persons including a woman.Fire brigade officials said that 14 persons, including competitive exam aspirants were staying as tenants at the house, were rescued and admitted to separate hospitals. More than a dozen people sustained injuries in the incident.As per the locals, fire originated in a parked car on the ground floor of the house. Within minutes it spread in the the other portions of the building."Two persons including a woman were killed in the mishap. The casualties have occurred because of suffocation. Further investigations are underway in this regard," said SP West Gaurav Grover. At the time of incident majority of occupants were sleeping.As many as six fire tenders were pressed into service to control the fire.The injured persons undergoing treatment at Lala Lajpat Rai and a private hospital have been identified as Dharmendra Singh, Urmila Singh, Shalini, Neha, Pratap, Abhishant, Siddhi, Lado, Harshit Tiwari, Ajai Yadav, Rajan Yadav and Atul.The doctors have stated condition of nearly three persons to be critical.
